Plastic Lids are nice too…. even though I can't stand using plastic, but if you have them they are nice because of the oxidation of the metal lids. Great video I have a lawn with Self Heal and haven't ever made a tincture etc. I do collect flowers for tea in winter, you are inspiring me to make a topical salve out of it.. Thanks and Blessings!
Hi,
I have plenty of this herb in my back yard …
Is this something you use the liquid only?
Thanks!
Yarrow and catmint soaked in water for a few days. Strain and spray yourself.
I heard you say you press it after 4 to 6 weeks. Does that basically mean you're straining it? You don't drink the leaves and flowers, right?
Where in the heck do you get a 5 gal. bucket of honey ? Here in Michigan it cost about 15 dollars for 12 ounces.
Forgive a newby… At the end what did you mean by pressing it, and what do you do after you press it?
I just love everything about your videos and the way you explain it all so perfectly, I too make my own medicines and only use all natural plants in my cooking etc., constantly foraging and trying learn as much as I can about all plants around me. I am also a fellow Canadian, I am in the Niagara Region of Ontario, I have lived not to far from where you are back some years ago when i lived in Gravenhurst! I also wanted you to know I just bought your book! Keep doing what your doing! Tracy
Thanks Correne! This just showed up in my back yard this year. I will be making some for the cold season.
IT LOOKS ALITTLE LIKE RED CLOVER WHICH IS VERY GOOD 4 U AS WELL. SAME RECIPE WILL WORK
I LOVE Self-heal! Found it 3 years ago in our yard, and have been using it ever since. I would like to try your recipe! Yes, it creeps along the ground at my house, but if I wait for a time when my husband hasn't had time to mow because of rain, I can usually get enough to use for a batch of something!
I love the knowledge of herbalists.😊
Thank you so much for this! Im just getting into foraging within the last few months and this was my first oxymel! Can i add more honey after it sits if i find its not sweet enough for me? And also, would i be able to add more prunella vularia flowers say i find more at a later date?
PS it is a delicious tea

Essential oil of Peppermint can work as a bug deterrent.
you call it a boline but i call it a sling blade MMha…..
You should put vinegar in first, then the honey.
Try adding the vinegar first. The honey blocks flow.
Citronella plants help and they grow fast they help repel mosquitoes
Thieves oil does work for mosquitos, but Ive also heard that dog fennel will work. I love the smell of dog fennel. I use my own personal mixture of thieves' oil.
I have an effective mosquito combo that I made into a spray…half the town now uses it, but due to allergic examples still not done testing so won't be sharing it yet…key ingredients lemon, lavender, citronella and lemon balm…best I can do for now
