Glad I found your awesome video. This is really helpful for beginner plant hobbyist like myself. I'm a new subscriber! One question, for how long is it considered tolerable for the soil stay wet after watering – 1, 3 days, 1 week? I notice in few of my plants that the soil stays wet around 10 in my moisture meter even after a week. Is this something to be worried about? Thanks!
I had a very stupid day and continued transplanting a bunch of my plants into soil that was heavily rained on to the point that the soil was soaked. I do not know what i was thinking. But at this point I think replanting them in new soil would be alot easier and quicker. 😢
It is now April 19, 2024 and last week I potted a rooted plumeria I had ordered from J&J Plumerias (a 'Teresa Wilder' cultivar), into an appropriately sized terra cotta pot. I guess I got lucky, as they sent me a 3-4' tall plant with that had already branched 3 times with a few small leaves. (I have to assume these leaves were small due to the plant coming out of winter hibernation). I used some Fertilome cactus/succulent mix with a bit of added perlite for extra drainage. Yesterday I may inadvertently watered it a bit too much. It's not even hot outside yet (to aid evaporation) and I don't have access to a fan, so I used the identification marker, which has a thin, approximently 1/4 inch wide x 6 inch long plastic projection (used to stick into the soil) to poke deep holes in the soil around the trunk to expose more soil and to help it air out. Hopes this works. Thanks for posting. 🪴🌴🌵
I had that humidifier. Junked. Kicks off when not at the setpoint (no where near). Over humidified my tent. 90 plus percent when set at 65. Maybe mine was a defect but company wouldn't replace.
You should stop using plastic pots and trays. Every year over 500 million plastic pots and trays are sold and they all end up in the landfill polluting our air, water and soil. They take 500 years to decompose creating methane which erodes the ozone layer.
isnt it also a good idea to just water the top of the pot so water only enters the first 2-3 inches of soil and then stop watering. and repeat this everytime you need to water until the lower half of the pot dried to the desiered level and then water it all the way to the bottom?
i went to walmart into the plant area found an aloe baby, he had no dirt in a tiny pot his roots were bone dry his leaves were dying and crusty and i waterded him had this issue too so this helped
Any time I buy a plant from a big box store, they are so overwatered. I just lift the plant out and set it inside a Terra cotta pot. The pot pulls out the moisture pretty quickly. That’s my go to solution 😀
WOW! Keep the amazing ideas coming in the comments! It is great that we can all work together and share ideas.
Thanks for all this precious informations!!!!

Thank you ❤
If I used the fan method the soil would blow everywhere!!!!!
For how long should the soil stay wet?
Is it ok to just give them a splash of water
💜💜
I use paper towels folded just right over the soil. Works perfect
Very helpful, thank you!

Ummmm….i keep a box of tampons for overwatered plants. They work great. Weird but affective😊

Great video. My monstera is not dripping water from the drainage holes as your did in the video. Could I be overwatering?
